Stoke City ready to sell Wilson Palacios

Stoke City would look to find a buyer for Wilson Palacios this January. The 30-year old is totally out of favour at the club presently.

Palacios gets a high amount of thirty five thousand Pounds on a weekly basis at Stoke. That’s the main reason the club management is desperate to offload him.

Palacios had made a couple of appearances for Honduras in World Cup, but, the Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has not considered him god enough to give even one playing chance in the 2014-15 Season.

According to the reports, the Stoke officials had recently met Palacios’ representative and had tried to reach some kind of agreement to get the deal terminated, but, their attempt failed.

They are hoping to be able to do something about the player at the start of the next year.

Palacios’ deal with Stoke is not going to come to an end in the mid-season transfer window, but, the Potters are ready to sell him even without any transfer fee. All they want at this point of time is to get rid of his weekly wages which is extremely high considering where he is in his career currently.

Palacios and Peter Crouch were the two players who were jointly signed by Stoke three years back. While, the latter has served the club decently well so far, Palacios has turned out to be an absolute flop.

Crouch has played more than 100 games for Stoke, while, Palacios has made only 38 appearances so far.

In the meantime, there have been rumours that the Stoke board wants to extend the contract of the manager Mark Hughes.

Stoke has not done that badly under Hughes in the ongoing season. They are just a couple of points behind the runner up of the last season i.e. Liverpool.

Stoke’s exact position in the table is no. 12. They’ve got 19 points in 16 matches.
