The career of Wilson Palacios has recently suffered a huge dip after the Honduran midfielder was released by the MLS side on November of 2016 and now the future of Palacios is starting to appear unclear.
Wilson Palacios has made his way through some of the biggest Premier League clubs with Tottenham Hotspur as he performed there from 2009 until 2011 but his reality right now is completely different as a few years ago.
Former Stoke City midfielder Wilson Palacios has revealed how losing his younger brother to armed kidnappers made him determined to tackle gang culture and end kidnapping.
Palacios was playing for Birmingham City in 2007 when his younger brother Edwin was abducted from his family house in Honduras by an armed gang before he was found dead a 19 months later.
“My brother was taken away from us by one of these gangs, they wanted money, so we paid the ransom, but he never came back to us.
“It was devastating. It changed my life and made me think I didn’t want any other children to go through the same things,” Palacios told Daily Star.
Mark Hughes has been in charge of Stoke City since May of 2013 and ever since then, he has pushed the club to the club to the 9th spot of the Premier League for 3 successive seasons but in this current season, things have fallen apart as they have only been able to secure 2 victories out of their 9 opening league matches of the season.
Stoke City is currently positioned at the bottom spots of the Premier League and are closely entering the relegation zone which is a huge surprise for a club that has consistently been able to get into the top 10.
Miami FC manager Alessandro Nesta says that he is happy to be coaching in the United States.
Regarded as one of the greatest defenders of this generation,Nesta has entered into the coaching world with a small step with Miami FC. Even though a player of his pedigree will receive coaching offers from around the world especially at the top of the game, Nesta has tried to go to the basic levels of the game in order to start from the scratch. This will give him a lot of experience when he eventually steps into the top level
Stoke City finished the 2015-16 season of the Premier League on the 9th spot after having collected a total of 51 points in 38 matches.
Mark Hughes and the fans of the club want to see the squad doing a better job in the next season and signing a few new players can greatly help out the club in this journey.
One of the names that have been linked with Stoke City is SaidoBerahino of West Bromwich Albion. Berahino is a 23 year old attacker who has received praise by the media as he is a player that emulates Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto’o with a playing style that is similar to them in one way or another.
There was a point in time when Robin van Persie was considered to be one of the best attackers in the world of football but the Dutchman has been experiencing a downfall as he is playing with the Turkish outfit Fenerbahce and has not managed to perform at the high level that he did not too long ago.
Robin van Persie proved that he still has what it takes to perform at a world class level even at a fairly elevated as he scored a sublime goal in the opening game of the 2014 World Cup after connecting with a cross and chipping the ball past the likes of Iker Casillas.
Former Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City player Wilson Palacios has been talking about his career.
He said that it was a good experience for him to have played in the Premier League and has encouraged young players from his country to try the experience.
He said that he was pleased with Spurs performance this season. He knew some of the young players during his time at Tottenham Hotspurs and that it was a nice feeling to see these players rise and challenge for the title. He said that Leicester City deserved the title and Spurs should not lose hope and try again next season.
To go from being the leader of the attack of the club to be a bench warmer which he has become, this is a sort of demotion which is ego-hurting for Crouch and frankly, it would be ego-hurting for any player in the world.
But, Crouch does not have unrealistic views at all and he actually accepts that in mid-thirties, appearing in all the matches is unlikely for him or for anyone who is of that age. The younger players dominate the pecking order everywhere.
However, he reckons he is surely doing sufficiently in training to be at least on the brink of selection and have a go every now and then whenever the manager thinks of rotation or whatever.
Stoke City manager Mark Hughes believes that the club will be without winger Xherdan Shaqiri due to a thigh pull. The former Inter Milan star may be set for a couple of weeks on the sidelines.
The blow comes at a time when the club has just started to find its feet in the league. Players like Ryan Shawcross have spoken with confidence about finishing in the Europa league spots. Stoke City have already qualified for this competition once in the history and to do it regularly would be great. However, they face strong competition from the likes of Southampton, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
Wilson Palacios struggled to get consistent playing time as a player of Stoke City, this was mainly due to injuries which hampered him for a long period of time and the Honduran player was released from the club even before his contract with the Premier League club had reached it’s end.
When everything was officially confirmed and Palacios was indeed released from Stoke City, Hull City snapped up the Honduran midfielder on trial but he was never truly able to impress the coach Steve Bruce and unfortunately for Palacios, a permanent contract wasn’t offered to him.
Stephen Ireland has always been one of the favourite players of Mark Hughes, but the Stoke City manager has been struggling to give opportunities to the 29-year-old this season.
Ireland was expected to be a big presence in the midfield of Stoke this season, but he has had only 128 minutes of league action so far. All of his six appearances in the league have come as a substitute and it has led to speculation that Ireland could be on the move once again. In a recent fans meeting, defender Ryan Shawcross admitted that Ireland will be frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities. However, he remains an integral part of the club.
Santi Cazorla signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal to end any interest from Spanish clubs.
The midfielder has been an excellent buy from Mallorca. He has been one of the key players in the squad over the last couple of years. Quality provided by such players has enabled Arsenal not just end the trophy drought that went on for almost a decade, but also claim back-to-back success in the league. Along with Cazorla, Theo Walcott also extended his contract with the gunners. His future has been under major speculation since he had just 12 months left on his contract.
