HONDURAS LOSE 3-0 TO MEXICO

Honduras fell to a painful 3-0 defeat by Mexico. With the win so far, Mexico closes in on the World Cup berth. The top three teams at the end of 10 matches are expected to advance to next year’s World Cup in Russian Federation. However, whichever team places fourth in the competition will face Asia’s No. 5 nation in a playoff.

Mexico is now with 13 points in their kitty as they remain atop the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying table. They would be facing the United States in a key match to be played at the Estadio Azteca.
In recent times, Mexico seems to be the stronger amongst both teams, beating the United States in OH when they met last time in November.

Four days later, the US team lost 4-0 at Costa Rica thus pushing the team down to the last position in the standings. This led Sunil Gulati, USSF President and his board to fire Jurgen Klinsmann. In his place, Bruce Arena, USA’s coach from 1998 to 2006 was brought in.

With four wins and a draw, El Tri definitely leads the North and Central American as well as the Caribbean region. If they come off victorious once more, this could cement their seventh straight World Cup berth.

Former US Coach, Klinsmann had dropped Nagbe from the roster and Arena believes that the player is having fun where he is.

The USMNT came off winless after two games in “The Hex”. The Hex is the group play stage that determines which three teams from CONCACAF will automatically qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
First, they ended up in a home loss to rival team, Mexico, and next fell to a 4-0 ugly thrashing at the hands of Costa Rica.
