Stoke city midfielder Rory Delap has said that the club and the fans want to see the best of Wilson Palacios as soon as possible and they will get the opportunity to do so this season. The former Tottenham midfielder arrived at the club for £ 6 million after growing frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities following the arrival of Scott Parker.
However, he has been a major disappointment after his first season with the club, during which time he has suffered numerous injuries. Rory Delap reckons that the injuries have limited his impact on the club in the first season, but expect him to be back to full fitness ahead of the pre-season training.
Wilson Palacios was brought in to Stoke city in a double deal that also saw the arrival of Peter Crouch, who has been a major success at the Britannia stadium. Rory Delap reckons that it will not be long before the Stoke city fans get to see the best out of the 27-year-old Honduras midfielder. Wilson Palacios was a £ 12 million signing for Tottenham only not too long ago, but he has fallen out of favour with Harry Redknapp after suffering a number of injury problems.
“Wilson hadn’t played for a while before he signed. The manager knew that, so it was a case of trying to get him fit, as he has done with a number of players. But just as he was getting fit he would get another niggling injury. That would keep him out for a week, but could set him back double that. But we saw bits of how good a player he is. He’s such a nice fella and everyone knows he’s a good player, but good players have to be fit as well,” said Rory Delap.
