Cabrera Happy with Houston’s Attacking Performance against Vancouver

Houston Dynamo manager Wilmer Cabrera has claimed that the defeat against Vancouver Whitecaps is not entirely negative for the club, as it provides them with the few positives to take into the next few matches. Houston Dynamo were a strong team in the first half of the 2017 campaign, but the team has made a very poor start to the current campaign. The 2-1 loss against Vancouver does make the record look extremely poor, but Wilmer Cabrera is happy to see his team put in a strong performance over the 90 minutes. Houston did everything but win the game, as they dominated the match in terms of the chances.

The Honduras attacking pair of Alberto Elis and Romell Quioto were extremely good in the game. As a result, there were 21 shots from Houston Dynamo with seven hitting the target. Wilmer Cabrera said that he had just witnessed one of the dominant performances from Houston Dynamo in a long time. However, Vancouver were able to get away with a smash and grab victory. Irrespective of the result, Wilmer Cabrera has reinstated the need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible. The team are up against DC United in the next match and this will be followed by matches against New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls.

Since Houston have a string of away matches in the next month, it is important to get as many points now as possible.”(We were) good in possession, passing accuracy going forward and creating options. That is important for us. (Losing despite that) is part of the game. They attacked three times and scored two goals. We attacked 20 times and we had 15 corners, and we only scored one.We need to continue because it is an improvement from what we were doing last year,” said Wilmer Cabrera.
